Trustee Heather Washington is a proud Keller resident and mom of two running to serve fight for our communities conservative values. She will ensure our students receive the excellent education they deserve.
As an Executive Board Member of the Keller Middle School PTA and KISD Strategic Planning Committee member, Heather has the unique insight and qualifications Keller ISD needs at this critical moment.
MEET HEATHER
Heather Washington has lived in Keller for 16 years. She is a graduate of the University of Louisiana – Lafayette. Her studies launched her into a 12-year career in television production, marketing, and video post-production. After leaving television, Heather spent thirteen years in sales and account management, working for companies such as Olympus America, Nextel, and Sprint. In 2011, she retired from the corporate world to begin the role of a stay-at-home mom; the most significant, toughest, and most rewarding job of her life.
Heather has served tirelessly in the Keller ISD over the past decade. She is a member of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), serving on the PTA Executive Boards for her childrens’ schools, taking on various roles such as PTA President at Florence, Membership VP at Bear Creek Intermediate, and Communications VP at Keller Middle School. During her time at Florence Elementary, Heather was honored with the PTA Honorary Life Member award for her services.
Heather has also been a substitute teacher for the ISD at Florence Elementary and Bear Creek Intermediate, and she has served on various ISD committees, including the Campus Education Improvement Committee (CEIC) at Florence Elementary and Bear Creek Intermediate, the District Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC), the KISD Safety and Health Committee, the 2019 Citizens Bond Advisory Committee (CBAC), the Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC), the 2023 Strategic Planning Committee, and the Keller Middle Band Boosters.
Heather’s passion for serving her community extends beyond Keller ISD. She has volunteered with scouting since 2017, previously as a Den leader and currently as a committee member. Heather has also been a Girl Scout Leader and volunteer, served in Keller 4-H since 2020, and also volunteers at DFW Boxer Rescue. Heather is a passionate advocate for dyslexia since her children were diagnosed in first grade.
Heather and her husband, David, a lifelong Texas resident who grew up in the area, have been married for 15 years and are members of Keller United Methodist Church. They have two wonderful children, a 7th grader and an 8th grader who attend Keller Middle School.
